Chief Brian Cunningham celebrates 40 years of service.
Department Chief Brian Cunningham celebrates 40 years of service to the Hi-Nella Fire Company No.1 this month. Chief Cunningham joined the Department in June 1968 as a Junior Firefighter and rose through the ranks serving as Engineer, Lieutenant, Captain, Asst. Chief, and continues to serve as our Chief after 14 years.

In addition to his service to the Department, Chief Cunningham has served in numerous positions in the Borough, including Member of Council, Council President, and Mayor of Hi-Nella.

- Awarded a Life Membership in the Department in 1992
- Awarded US Congressional Community Service Award in 1999
- Department Distinguished Service Award in 2000
- President's Award in 2001
- Member of the Year in 2002
- Awarded Life Saving Medal in 2002 for assisting with fire rescue
- Distinguished Service Award in 2004
