The Department responded to a dewatering incident on May 15 and found three feet of water in the basement of an elderly resident’s home. The water damaged the homeowner’s heater and hot water heater and required the gas service to be shut-off. Interior crews donned haz-mat coveralls while they worked in the basement amongst all of the storage and debris that was damaged in the flood. Rescue 29, the County Office of Emergency Management, and Hi-Nella Police provided assistance during the incident.
